Site of Significance

Orangeville Town Hall is a historic, multiuse building. Originally used as a marketplace, the old barn doors can still be seen on the building's side. It has been retrofitted to include municipal services and offices in half of the building, and Theatre Orangeville in the other half.

Did You Know?

Orangeville is named after an entrepreneurial settler named Orange Lawrence. Sadly, he died just three years before the town was incorporated.

Royal Connection

Author Robertson Davies was a resident of Orangeville at the time of his death in 1995. An accomplished novelist, Davies was a recipient of the 1972 Governor General's Literary Award in the English Language Fiction category for The Manticore.
