Her Honour conducted an official visit to the City of Cobourg. During her visit, Her Honour met privately with His Worship Gil Brocanier, participated in a roundtable discussion on sustainable quality of life in small town Ontario, attended a community reception, and opened the 55+ Ontario Winter Games.

Site of Significance
Victoria Hall, which serves as Town Hall and a multi-functional space, opened in 1860 and was declared a national historic site in 1959. Source
Did You Know?
Cobourg was once on the list of possible cities to be named the captial of Upper Canada. After the Second World War, it was the site of the libel trial for Sir Arthur Currie.
Royal Connection
Edward, the young Prince of Wales, the future King Edward VII, came to Cobourg during his Canadian tour of 1860.
On September 6 he officially opened Victoria Hall which was named for his mother Queen Victoria. He also stayed for the Grand Ball and midnight supper in celebration of the opening. Source
