The Lieutenant Governor hosted a screening of episode one of “First Contact,” a three-part TV series, followed by a panel discussion at Queen’s Park. The event was co-hosted by the Rotary Club of Canada’s Honouring Indigenous Peoples.
Narrated by host and social justice activist George Stroumboulopoulos, “First Contact” a compelling exploration into Indigenous culture in Canada. The producers take six Canadians, all with strong opinions about Indigenous people, on a unique 28-day exploration of Indigenous Canada. It is a journey that will turn their lives upside down, challenging their perceptions and confronting their prejudices about a world they never imagined they would see. This exploration will change the participants’ lives forever.
