The Lieutenant Governor hosted a salon at Queen’s Park with faculty and staff of the University of Waterloo School of Architecture.
Guests of the salon were asked to consider the following questions:
- As our very notion of the urban rapidly transforms, how can architecture, landscape and urbanism support ecology, sociality and equality?
- With their legacy of confronting difficult questions, how can cultural history and architectural theory help us embrace the complex cultural narratives of our global world?
- Within a more-than-human world, how can our integration of different technologies qualitatively engage the world’s complex material, economic and social realities?
- How can design address the very real problems of the world while retaining its radical openness, experimentation and ability to inspire?
